About our Mounts
The mountboard we use is what is known as ‘Conservation Quality Whitecore Mountboard’ – this means that the bevel cut which exposes the inside of the board will remain white for years to come. In the past mountboard had a small amount of acidity in it which often meant the bevelled edges would ‘yellow’ over time. With our mounts this is not a problem, our bevels will stay white for years and years!
These days each mount is cut on our computerised mount cutter, we used to cut the mounts by hand but the computerised mount cutter takes a fraction of the time and ensures accuracy to within fractions of a millimetre. Meaning our mounts are always dead square, no overcuts or undercuts and that each size is always exactly the same as it should be.
