About our Wooden Frames

All of the wooden frameson this site are hand made by ourselves in our Gloucestershire based factory. We have been making wooden frames like this for the last 22 years and pride ourselves on the quality and high levels of service we offer.

Each frame is cut using our state of the art mitre saw and then joined using what is known as an ‘underpinner’. This fires a special kind of ‘V’ shaped wedge into the back of the frame which holds the two pieces together. Depending on the width of the moulding, we will sometimes put 2, 3 or even 5 or 6 wedges into the frame to make sure it has enough strength.

We use top quality glass in all our wooden frames up to 16” x 12” and the best ‘safety glass’ acrylic in sizes larger than this. If you specifically want to have glass in a larger size then Contact Usand we can usually work something out.

Each wooden frame then has a paper infill inserted and a 2mm thick MDF backing board. Sizes up to and including 10” x 8” come complete with a stand and all frame sizes come with the necessary hanging fixings for the wall.

We take great care of our frames and are proud of each frame we make!
